FV - Run through of animated scenes

Thought I'd put all my animated scenes together in Premiere Pro just to see how they're looking before I work over the faces etc in Flash. The intertitles are missing too but I will add these all in at the end.

FV - Virus Salesman animation

Just a pre-viz for checking cameras, lighting etc before animating arms, batch rendering and then working over in Flash to give the Virus some facial expressions.

FV - Virus entering body playblast

FV - Cell modelling complete

Healthy and unhealthy cells now complete, so my characters are finally now finished in Maya. As with the Virus characters, I just to animate them and work on them in Flash now.

FV - Maya Virus Characters complete!

Very pleased to have my virus character finished with rigged arms etc! These three variations show the original flu virus, after uncoating and with a new coat. Facial details to be added in on Flash at the end. :)

FV - Arm modelling and rigging, Environment complete

Finished modelling the environments today. This one was pretty simple and started as a cube. I then extruded the faces to create the head shape and the cavities for the germs to travel along. Animating the germs next!

Background for the above scene. Just a simple polygon plane with a Photoshop image.

With Simon's help today I modelled and rigged an arm which will be used for all of my characters. I was originally going for something much simpler, but it didn't really look that great and wouldn't have all the movements I was after. Little bit of tweaking needed but pretty much there!

FV - Environment progression

So today I have been working on setting up my scene using the face I've modelled for my environment and the matte painting I have. I'm hoping to use the parallax effect that Simon showed us in my final scene. Need to tidy this scene up and light it properly and then I can bring my characters in and animate them!

FV - Environment UVing

So I exported the face UVs and worked over them in Photoshop to create some very rough shading for my environment. I want this to look quite blocky and simple. Will do lots more tweaking but I'm happy with how it's going so far!

FV - Environment progress

Working on my environment today. Have pretty much finished modeling and will keep the model low-poly. I'm then going to take the UVs into Photoshop and work over them before importing back into Maya. I'll add Matte paintings in the background as per my concept art below.

Maya Tutorial - Deformers: Wire Deformers and Creating Mirror Blend Shapes

In Simon's lesson today we used deformers to change the character's eyebrow to show frowning, raised and surprised expressions.

FV - Flash animation test

A test to see how the Maya animation of my 'flu virus works with facial details drawn over the top in Flash. After chatting with Julien, I might adapt the Maya model slightly to get rid of a few of the spikes so I can make the eyes and mouth a bit bigger. Once I'm completely happy with how this is working, then I'll put the model into the scene and carry on from there!
